BROKEN BRIDGES

Directors:  Mark P Sinozic

Screenwriter:  Mark P Sinozic

Genre:  Drama

A dramatic piece about love and family. Martin (Trent Hopkins) meets up in secret with his lover, Lydia (Ruth Spencer). As they try to enjoy each others company, Lydia cannot help feeling the pressure from her strongly religious family. As both of them think of ways to avoid family judgement, they are interrupted by Lydia's brother, Jacob (Nicholas Larkin). Its a tense stand-off as Jacob's aggressive nature takes charge forcing Martin into a split-second decision that changes everything.

Shot on location up at Deakin University, Burwood, up in Melbourne's south-east, Broken Bridges was the third film made by Mark P Sinozic. Working with three great actors, there was a lot of fun and a relaxed feeling on set that made this film a joy to shoot and later edit.

THE LONGEST ROAD

Directors:  Mark P Sinozic

Screenwriter:  Mark P Sinozic

Genre:  Drama

It's the little things that can set you off. Little things that you notice around the house, of your loved one's behaviour. When they do something slightly differently than normal, it sticks with you. You ponder more and more; the various reasons and scenarios begin forming darker and crazier thoughts. The love you saw so strong and forever, slowly erodes from the relationship until one day you realised something has gone terribly wrong with your life plan. Ava (Jessica McGinness-Whyte) sees the little things, ponders the terrible possibilities and confronts her certainty that her husband, Zachary (Tim Addicoat) is sleeping with someone else!

Another quick, one day shoot saw this great little film come together with terrific results. Two fantastic actors who were a joy to work with, they took on their roles with great enthusiasm. Jessica and Tim really brought their characters to life on the screen and the result is a tight, tense look at the dangers of suspicion and mistrust.

NORLANE HIGH SCHOOL

Directors:  Mark P Sinozic

Screenwriter:  Mark P Sinozic

Genre:  Documentary

A Tour Of Devestation: Norlane High School is a documentary of abandonment. For 50 years, Norlane High School has serviced Geelong's northern suburbs educating generations of students and building a reputation for excellence. Over time, this reputation began to slip as difficult social issues and a growing disillusionment among the students lead to a rise in ongoing vandalism.

Once a proud school, Norlane became the victim of harsher political decisions until finally being forced to close with no real solution to the problems ever coming about. This documentary looks at the state the school was left to rot in. With the students and faculty all transferred, the buildings themselves were abandoned with little care taken to look after the premises. 50 years of history and this was what was left of the school. Smashed glass, graffitied walls and the final class lessons left eerily on dusty chalkboards sends a shiver down your spine.

LAURA

Directors:  Mark P Sinozic

Screenwriter:  Mark P Sinozic

Genre:  Drama

Everything can change in just a single moment, a new beginning, an ending or a transition. For Laura, it is something more. Plagued with doubt, Laura yearns for affection and love in a relationship gone cold. A distance has opened between herself and her boyfriend, Martin. She struggles to understand his anger, frustration and often his indifference. What is wrong? Where has the love gone? While struggling with this, Laura suffers a terrible trauma.

Filmed in Geelong, Laura was shot over a single day. Planned for a two-day shoot, the production had to race to finish in a single day due to last minute changes. Despite this, a dedicated cast and crew pulled together an amazing production that challenges traditional storytelling.
